Mangal Kalash

There are days when the pooja isn't a five-minute aarti — it's a proper one. A pandit is coming, the family is sitting down, and you need a kalash at the centre of it. This is that piece.

An engraved metal kalash with a lotus crown and a matching lid, sized to hold water, a coin, mango leaves and a coconut without going top-heavy the moment you set the nariyal on it. Finished well enough that it stays out on the mandir the rest of the year instead of going back into a newspaper wrapper in the loft.

Use it for

• Griha Pravesh — the kalash sthapana as you enter a new home
• Navratri ghatasthapana on the first day
• Satyanarayan puja, Diwali Lakshmi puja, and havan setups
• Weddings and engagements, where a kalash sits at the front of the mandap

Good to know

• Roughly 22 cm tall with the crown — a centrepiece, not a small accessory
• Comes as a set: kalash, lid and lotus crown
• Wide flat base so it doesn't tip when the coconut goes on
• Rinse and dry after use — don't leave water standing in it for days
